It’s coming. 2014. There’s something magical about starting a new year. The opportunity to start fresh with your ideals. To evaluate what is and isn’t working in your daily routine. To consider embracing a new adventure or challenge.
Maybe you are still decompressing from Christmas. Finding places for the new presents. Considering when (or if) you will take down those Christmas decorations. And you haven’t even spent a moment thinking about the new year.
I’m hopeful today’s podcast guest will stir your thoughts and help paint a picture of what a balanced, God-Centered life could look like.
My guest, Tricia Goyer (www.triciagoyer.com) “has written more than thirty-five books, including both novels that delight and entertain readers and non- fiction titles that offer encouragement and hope.
She has also published more than 500 articles in national publications such as Guideposts,Thriving Family, Proverbs 31, and HomeLife Magazine.
Tricia has authored several books on family and parenting, as well as co-written with Max Lucado and Robin Jones Gunn. She collaborated with Ken Blanchard and Phil Hodges for Lead Your Family Like Jesus, published by Focus on the Family/Tyndale.”
When I met Tricia I was most impressed not by her resume, but by her heart. Tricia focuses first on God’s desires for her life. Then she (and her husband) narrow their family’s activities to match where God is leading.
During the podcast you will hear how her past challenges (abortion/teen pregnancy) drew her closer to God. How He used past pain to help her serve girls finding themselves in a similar situation.
She also shares some thoughts from her new self-published book, “Balanced: Finding Center as a Work-at-Home Mom
” (click title to get a copy, affiliate link). I love her question:
“If you could do anything and know it could succeed what would you do?”.
